Merry Christmas!

Here is a quick recap of our Very Merry Christmas...

Christmas Eve at Oma and Opa's, we always read the Christmas Story and sing hymns.  We have been told we sound like  MoTab ;)
 Kids waiting for gifts.
Ammon knows what it takes to get the first gift... being quite with the arms folded always seems to do the trick... there are a few kids who have not figured this out yet.
Cody checking out his new Ipod Touch 4G!  He was in shock!
The rest of the pictures were taken with my new camera!  I love it!  Thanks Cody, you are the BEST!
We really spoiled each other this year, and this is only the beginning.

BUNCO Party!  I won the Travelers Prize, Brooke won for most Bunco's, I think she ended up with 7!  Mom for most wins and Dad was the ultimate LOOSER. (Looser get prizes too).

Marissa got a new camera too,  We took pics of each other taking a picture,

 New PJ's and Pillow pets.
Shane's homecoming Party.  What a great talk he gave, I think we all had a tear in our eye.

We also had a delicious breakfast at Grandpa and Grandma Sherry's house Christmas Eve Morning.
Thank you Mom's and Dad's,Sister's and Brother's, Grandpa's and Grandma's for another Fantastic Christmas!

Welcome Home Elder Bakker

My brother, Shane returned home from serving an LDS mission in Philadelphia on Saturday!  We are SO proud of him!  He was a great missionary and I know he will continue to be a great missionary throughout his life.

Thanks for your great example Shane!

Sami really was excited to see Shane... she is a teenager now, so she always looks grumpy
Elder Bakker coming down the escalator!  Our small family of six made quite a scene at the airport for Shane!
 Off to Denny's for Breakfast!
My awesome friend Lisa flew into the airport from her mission in Fort Worth Texas about 10 minutes after Shane did.  I was so glad to be there to welcome her home too.

WELCOME HOME ELDER BAKKER AND SISTER PETERSON!  WE LOVE YOU!!!

Sinterklaas Visit

Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet paid us a visit last night.  This morning we woke up with chocolate letters, coins, Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet chocolate figurines and YUMMY stroop waffels in our shoes! (My WOODEN shoes were left at my parents house, so he had to improvise)
What a FUN surprise this morning.  We are excited to start this new tradition celebrating my Dutch Heritage, I have a feeling it will only get better as the kids come.
Now we are looking forward for Santa Clause to come Christmas Eve!

Lunch with the Gov.- Link Fixed

Packsize- the company I work for- was invited to the Utah100 a few weeks ago.

The Utah100 is Utah's 100 fastest growing businesses.  This year we ranked number 42.  Earlier this summer we also attended the Fast 50.  I'm not sure how they all work or what all the requirements are, I just know Packsize is AWESOME!  I have been very fortunate to be hired on with them, what great people to work with.

The lunch was held at the Grand America downtown- The Grand-ballroom was all decked out- and the food was fantastic.  This was a big event.

Click HERE to see our pic with Mr. Herbert.  The pass word is Utah100.  My eyes are halfway closed...but it could be worse :)

The House of the Lord

Cody and I had the opportunity to help clean the Salt Lake Temple last night...What a great experience.
We showed up at 9:45 pm and they put us to work until Midnight.  35 volunteers showed up to help the normal staff..  Did you know the ENTIRE TEMPLE gets at least a brief cleaning EVERY NIGHT!!!  All the floors are Vacuumed and bathrooms cleaned every night...and let me tell you...that place has A LOT of carpet.  We got to see some places we have never seen, Cody vacuumed an immaculate office he said he wants one day, with a fire place that takes up the whole wall.

We both got to vacuum in the Celestial room.  Take notice of the carpet next time you are in there...we were told to try not to leave any lines...that was way harder than I thought it would be, and Cody, being the perfectionist he is, spent a good amount of time vacuuming a small sealing room...I love him!

We had a great time serving in a way we have not before.  We both now have a much greater appreciation for the details of the Temple, now having helped dust and vacuum every square inch.  We also appreciate the cleaning staff.  They stayed to finished up after we left at midnight.

After we were all done, our whole group was escorted through a tunnel that leads to the parking garage...
The Church is SO COOL... and it's SO TRUE!

Date Night

I talked Cody into going Miniature Golfing for our Date night this weekend.  We had a blast!

I'm better at taking self portraits than Cody :)

Cody won by ten..But I did get a hole in one on the last hole :)

Summer is Over :(

It's probably a good thing summer is over for all you who are sick of the Delta posts.

We finished strong!  We got one more quick trip to Delta over the Labor Day Holiday.  And we took our friends Tonya and Jason with us.
This trip was a tad bit chilly... we wore wet suits in the morning and got VERY good use of the hot tub this weekend...But at least we all got one last good run in.

New Summer Toy

The new toy of the summer is the Wake Surf.

We had fun this summer learning to surf.
We have not figured out how to surf with out the rope yet.  We don't think the boat has a big enough wake... any suggestion, let us know, we are determined to really "Surf" next year :)
